Professional and Master Esthetician Programs Natural esthetics means natural beauty. The purpose of our school is to nurture and enhance the natural beauty of women and men through professional expertise, the most advanced and safe technologies, and earth and people friendly products.
Professional Esthetics Program
This state certified introductory program includes 600 hours classroom and hands-on study leading to a Virginia State Certification and Licensure.
General Studies in:
Bacteriology and microorganisms, health and safety procedures, sanitation, OSHA and MSDS, chemistry of skin care products and ingredients, nutrition, and holistic health
Anatomy & physiology
In-depth instruction of the skin system, skin analysis, treatment and techniques to treat acne, dry skin, oily skin and other skin types
Make-up composition, techniques and application
Mask therapy facials with the aid of approved mechanical devices
In addition to classroom lectures, videos and hands-on training, students may attend field trips to spas and clinics which offer esthetics to observe, participate and evaluate the experience
A graduation requirement with hands-on practicals include:
Client assessments and consultations for facials, body and back treatments
Various facials with applied treatments using approved mechanical methods
Make up application
Hair removal using waxing and tweezing methods
Master Esthetics Program With the completion and certification of the Basic 600 hour Esthetician Program, students will be considered for our state certified Master Esthetician Training Program
This in depth program includes:
Advanced Anatomy and Physiology with special emphasis on skin, its types, conditions and pathologies
Advanced indepth knowledge of cosmetic ingredients, pharmacology, and advanced home care
Advanced skin care modalities including microdermabrasion, chemical exfoliation, light wave treatments, electric wave treatments, skin peels, including: enzyme, herbal exfoliations, vitamin based, alpha hydroxyl, beta hydroxyl, Jessner, modified peels, trichloroacetic, acidlymphatic drainage
Anatomyand physiology of the lymphatic system, etiology of edema,lymphatic drainage manipulations and movements, treatment sequences for face and neck, trunk and upper extremities, trunk and lower extremities, cellulite treatments, and machine aided lymphatic drainage
In addition to classroom lectures, videos and hands-on training, students may attend field trips to medical spas and plastic surgeons’ clinics with which the school has a working relationship.
Students will also attend training sessions on products and equipment by companies in medical esthetics field. They will also complete projects on subject areas preparing them for practice as a professional esthetician.
